Professor emeritus Jānis Bērziņš Founding Fellow in Musicology and Cultural Heritage Discipline: Music Performance and Composition / Arts Management & Cultural Economics

Professor emeritus Bērziņš, from Latvia, played a pivotal role in establishing the interdisciplinary ethos of Parvis. Though formally retired, he remains an active mentor and researcher, specialising in Baltic music history and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. His extensive publications have illuminated the musical traditions of North-Eastern Europe and their connections with broader European culture.
